Ventura County GOP Chair Calls Out Congresswoman Brownley For Lying About Republican Party

March 6, 2023

Recent Social Media Posts from Congresswoman Feature Lies About the GOP

Thousand Oaks, Calif.  – Ventura County Republican Party Chairman John Andersen blasted recent claims made by Congresswoman Julia Brownley on social media today.

“Congresswoman Brownley’s recent posts on several social media platforms contained blatant lies about the Republican Party and she owes an apology to both Republicans and her constituents,” said Chairman Andersen.

Brownley’s posts incorrectly claimed on social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, that “Republicans are working to cut, privatize and even end Social Security.”

“That claim was debunked by Republican Congressional leadership following President Biden’s recent State of the Union address. For Congresswoman Brownley to still be repeating these fabrications is just dishonest,” Andersen continued.

“It’s not surprising that Julia Brownley is doing this. She has made a career out of lying to the people of Ventura County. In the past, she has claimed to be a ‘moderate’ Democrat, all while voting in lockstep with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and progressive Democrats like Adam Schiff, Katie Porter and Barbara Lee.”

“It’s time for Congresswoman Brownley to stop trying to deceive the voters of Ventura County and the Ventura County Republican Party is going to hold her accountable whenever she chooses to try to do so,” Andersen concluded.

Congresswoman Brownley’s false social media posts can be found on Twitter and Facebook.
