Ventura GOP Endorses Candidates for State Senate & Assembly

January 25, 2024

Thousand Oaks, Calif. – The Ventura County Republican Party voted to endorse Elijah Mack for State Senate in Senate District 21 along with State Assembly candidate Deborah Baber in Assembly District 38 and candidate Tracey Schroeder in Assembly District 46.

Each of these candidates received the required two-thirds majority to earn the party’s endorsement after the party’s Central Committee heard from all of the Republican candidates for these seats. The Ventura GOP previously endorsed Ted Nordblum in the 42nd Assembly District.

“Elijah Mack’s youthful exuberance is a stark contrast to the tired, failed liberal policies of Democrat Senator Monique Limon,” said John Andersen, Chairman of the Ventura County Republican Party.

“Deborah Baber will be a refreshing voice for western Ventura County and I look forward to seeing her defeat far-left Assemblyman Steve Bennett. Meanwhile, Tracey Schroeder’s experience teaching in the Los Angeles Unified School District will allow her to go to Sacramento and help fix our broken education system,” he continued.

“I believe that Tracey will vote to protect our children from the dangers of fentanyl, which is something that current Democrat Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel has failed to do,” he concluded.

The 21st Senate District and 38th Assembly District encompass the Ventura County communities of Fillmore, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, Ventura and part of Camarillo.

The 46th Assembly District includes Bell Canyon in Ventura County along with West HillsCanoga Park, Winnetka, Reseda, Encino, and Van Nuys.
